A 27-year-old Berks County resident has been identified as the victim of a fatal crash that occurred Thursday afternoon in Reading, Pennsylvania, according to local authorities.
The Berks County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Najachect Camil Echevarria Gonzalez of Sinking Spring died following a motor vehicle accident in the 300 block of South 4th Street.
Emergency officials were notified of the fatal incident at approximately 1:27 p.m., prompting a response from deputies with the Coroner’s Office and other first responders.
Upon arrival, officials pronounced Gonzalez dead at the scene. An autopsy conducted on Friday determined that the victim died from blunt force trauma and traumatic asphyxia, injuries commonly associated with severe vehicle collisions.
However, the manner of death has not yet been finalized and remains pending as investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Berks County Coroner’s Office is working alongside the Reading Police Department to determine what factors may have contributed to the fatal collision. The Reading Fire Department and Matos Towing also assisted at the scene.
