A lawsuit saying that famous artists Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted a woman has made the public and the law pay more attention to both of them.
Filed Sunday in the Southern District of New York, the civil suit claims the pair of raping a 13-year-old girl at a 2000 MTV Video Music Awards after-party.

Under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, the lawsuit asks for damages that are not defined.
